Rabbi Emeritus Travel - Upcoming Trips
Rabbi Danny and Ricki invite you to join them on their next Jewish Heritage Tour—to South Africa—which will take place December 25, 2024-January 5, 2025. You will see in the attached materials that they have arranged a unique itinerary that will take you first to Cape Town and then on to Johannesburg to explore the rich history of the Jewish communities as well as the history of South Africa as it emerged from Apartheid to a free society. Our first Shabbat will be with the Temple Israel in Cape Town, where we will be welcomed by Rabbi Emma Gottlieb, and the second Shabbat will be at Beit Emanuel in Johannesburg, where Rabbi Danny led High Holy Day services this year. We have also arranged for an optional safari at Kruger National Park January 5-8, 2025.
If there is interest, we may also be able to arrange a 2-day “stop over” tour in Amsterdam prior to the start of the tour in Cape Town.
You will notice that airfare is not included in the price of the tour, making it easier for you to customize your travel, by adding extra days before or after the tour, arranging European stop-overs, choosing coach or business class fares, or using air miles that you might have available. The tour operator is Bonisa Global Tours, based in Cape Town, and they will be happy to assist you in making your travel arrangements and additional hotels, rental cars, etc., or you can make them on your own.
